Anyone who cites a track other than “Hotel Blanc” as their favorite is lying! Seriously, this is a gothic and percussive beast of a record that sounds great, whether overblown like on the 2005 BLRR release or here in its original master where it sounds clearer but more confined. Many of the tracks are waltzes, but the sophisticated production of “Hotel Blanc” surpasses them all. It would become a rightful milestone and a recurring motif in Edward’s future work (solo and band) for years to come.
